Samantha is a Canadian artist based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. After moving abroad for love, she unexpectedly found her way back to painting — and reconnected with a part of herself she had set aside for years. She creates layered, textured paintings guided by intuition, with a simple message at the heart of every piece: you don't have to shrink to belong.

— MY STORY
I didn't plan to become a painter.
I found my way back.
I didn't go to art school and didn't start painting until I was 31. I spent years in a career that gave me financial stability and wonderful colleagues — but not passion. As Marie Kondo would say, it didn't spark joy.
After my honeymoon, I came home to 500 unread emails and a sinking feeling: "Is this it? Is this my life?" That question started everything.
"The moment I picked up a paintbrush again, I felt the release, the joy, the peace. I felt so free and closer to myself than I had been since I was a child."
Five years later, I'm so grateful I listened to that inner voice. Art has given me purpose, connection, and a way to say: you don't have to stay small.

Picked up a brush for the first time in years. Decided my creativity was worth investing in.

Freedom Collection
Launched my first collection of original paintings.

Joined Swan Store Utrecht
Now part of a collective of makers — prints available in person in Utrecht.
2024
Samsung Art Frame Store
"Dance to your own intuition" selected alongside works from the Van Gogh Museum, Le Louvre, and The Met. A genuine pinch-me moment.
2025
Soft Forms, Bold Voices — Kunstruim, Amsterdam
Group show at Kunstruim, Jodenbreestraat, Amsterdam. A full exhibition with an opening night and a lineup of incredible female artists.

UID Art Fair — Rotterdam
Selected to show at one of the Netherlands' most exciting art fairs.
